Who I am

I am the father of three young adults, two girls and a boy, and live with my “smarter-than-me” wife in the Houston, Texas, suburb of Cypress, which is the setting for several of my novels. I am currently employed by a Big Four accounting firm as a customs broker and global trade consultant.

I spent two years in Japan in my youth, teaching English in Baptist churches in the Nagasaki area. While I was getting used to Asian culture, my wife, who had recently arrived in the US from China for studies, was getting used to American culture. We’ve spent all the years since then getting used to each other.

My only qualifications for writing my first novel are the number of romcoms and family movies I watched during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020 and asking “what if” about the plots.
