The Trailer Behind
the Garage

Book 1 of the Jensen Siblings series

Can the Jensen kids make it on their own after their parents’ deaths? Sixteen-year-old Sophie is determined to keep herself and her siblings in their own home, trying to maintain as much of the old family structure as possible after their parents’ death. Twenty-six-year-old Ty, the resident handyman and household assistant to the orphaned siblings, lives in the travel trailer behind their garage in a deal arranged with their grandmother who lives 200 miles away. Their semi-independence is under the condition that if things don’t work out, Grandma will force the kids to move in with her.

Ty, a family friend and high school dropout who has yet to find his calling, is a necessary intrusion into that goal. But as the kids adapt to life without parents, they find that being independent means fully embracing Ty’s help and friendship. Younger siblings John and Emi hope Sophie can turn around her disdain for Ty before she drives him away. But her increasing reliance on Ty, coupled with her own recent life challenges, just might provide a new perspective.

Why is Grandma’s guard up with Ty even as the kids ‘adopt’ him into their family? Will their relationship with Ty make the family stronger or lead to bigger conflict?
